The collaboration will focus on several future-oriented fields of research, such as joint research on different forms of analytics, 3D bioprinting, environmentally friendly energy storage, measures against respiratory infections and AI-supported diagnosis of proteins. The NMI and KIT have already successfully carried out joint research projects in the past. This demonstrates their long-standing collaboration in the fields of biotechnology, medicine and materials science.

With its interdisciplinary research and close collaboration with partners from industry, it offers an excellent basis for innovative cooperation. In particular, the clusters of excellence and the Helmholtz Institute Ulm for Electrochemical Energy Storage founded by KIT open up promising prospects for the further development of new technologies in partnership. The aim of the cooperation between the NMI and KIT is to work on significant scientific and technological advances that will benefit both sides.
