VRmagic GmbH was founded in 2001 by scientists at the Universities of Mannheim and Heidelberg. The vision of the founders was the development of a simulator enabling the virtual simulation of surgical eye operations. The combination of know-how gained in the fields of physics, informatics and medicine eventually led to the development of the EYESI® simulator. Medical education all over the world profits from this technology which drastically increases the quality and safety of surgical training. That is why EYESI® was awarded the Research and Innovation Prize of the Rhein-Neckar-Dreieck Foundation. VRmagic is the only company offering this ophthalmologic counterpart to a flight simulator. The technological skills of the scientists are also put to good use in industrial imaging systems. The company's high-quality cameras are used by a broad range of clients in mechanical engineering applications.
