The Annual Meeting is one of the largest platforms for scientists, physicians, engineers, researchers, students, and young professionals to exchange knowledge and experiences on the latest biomedical trends and findings. The upcoming conference will focus on a range of topics such as medical robotics, patient-centred medicine, regulatory affairs, sustainability in healthcare, digital transformation, resilience, and technical independence. Another focus of the conference is the promotion of young talents, scientific interaction, and networking. We are therefore once again looking forward to a lively participation.
The south of Germany is responsible for 57% of the turnover in the medical technology sector in Germany. Stuttgart is therefore a predestined location for our annual conference, and its university offers an excellent infrastructure and direct contacts to clinical and industry partners. A large exhibition from industry and research and a start-up platform will be an integral part of the conference. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in the conference programme by organising a symposium or taking part in our large interactive exhibition.
Call for Papers
All authors are invited to submit a structured abstract (300 words). The abstract will be peer-reviewed and, if accepted, published online in a supplement issue of the journal “Biomedical Engineering / Biomedizinische Technik” by De Gruyter (publicly accessible). In addition, authors are invited to submit an optional conference paper (2 to
4 pages). The conference papers will be peer-reviewed and, if accepted, published online in the journal “Current Directions in Biomedical Engineering” by De Gruyter (open access). The submission system will open on 15 January 2024. Both, abstracts and conference papers must be submitted by 31 March 2024, using the structured submission form and the provided templates.
Student competition
The BMT organisers ask students to present their results from research projects or theses. The best contributions will be awarded with certificates and prizes. The submissions (conference papers obligatory) are subject to the same peer review process and will undergo an additional evaluation based on quality, degree of innovation and presentation of the scientific-technical work.
